The above two pictures: In 1997, Stanley visited members of the Kariri-Xuco tribe in Northeastern Brazil. The tribe's storyteller allowed him to transcribe and publish a few of the tribe's myths about the Sao Francisco River. They appear in DREAM NETWORK, 1998, Volume 17, Number 1 (available from P.O. Box 1026, Moab, Utah 84532-1026).
